Music

CUMC's adult choir performing in the Sanctuary.

CUMC's Adult Choir

CUMC adult choir singing.

CUMC’s Adult Choir sings Sundays from September-May, generally four times a month.   No audition is required, and all adults are welcome.  We rehearse on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 in the sanctuary.  We are a casual group who  just love to sing and always welcome new singers.

The choir sings under the direction of Jean Johnson.  Ms. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Music degree from Colorado State University.  She recently retired as the vocal music director at Preston Middle School in the Poudre School District and is the assistant director of the Larimer Chorale and the director of the Silvertones.  Jean welcomes you to come and sing with us.  We meet as a group in Room 013 downstairs, south wing, for the beginning of class, and then split up for age-based lessons.

Handbell Choir and Ensemble

CUMC handbell ensemble performing.

We currently have a handbell duo who plays once a month in the worship service.  We are open to expanding that to a larger ensemble, trio, quartet, etc. for adults with handbell experience.  The church owns four octaves of Schulmerich handbells and three octives of Malmark choirchimes.  Contact Sherry Butler through info@ cumc-fc.org if you are interested in ringing with us.
